• SOL 8.6 a, f, h, i - Text Structure, Summarize, Critique, Draw Conclusions, Inferences 
• SOL 8.6e - Following Instructions
• SOL 8.8 - Editing 
• SOL 8.8c - Correct Pronoun Case & Number 

During the Third Nine Weeks we will be covering the following SOLs:

• SOL 8.4a - Identify Simile, Metaphor, Personification, Hyperbole, and Analogy
• SOL 8.4b - Use Context, Structure, and Connotation to Determine the Meaning of Words and Phrases
• SOL 8.5 a-e - Poetic Elements
• SOL 8.8e - Comparative and Superlative Forms of Adjectives and Adverbs

During the Fourth nine weeks, we will be covering the following SOLs:

• SOL 8.3 a-c - Analyze Mass Media Messages - Propoganda Techniques
• SOL 8.6 b, c, d, g - Informational Text: analyze author's credentials,viewpoint, impact, use of text structure, and word choice; analyze details for relevance and accuracy
